What does a band have to do to literally explode the US music charts with its debut album? Considering all the
possibilities, the recipe turned out to be quite simple: a band needs to masterfully mix all the best rock music of the 1980s and ‘90s,
play it well and add beautiful female vocals. Perhaps that's the best way to describe the music of an American band HALESTORM.
The band began with a dream of two kids, Lzzy and Arejay which was supported by their father.
The siblings began playing piano when they were five years old. When Lzzy was only 13 years old, she began writing
her own music, sing and play keyboard. Her younger brother took a place at the drums, and their father was playing a bass guitar.
Perhaps, this could all be nothing but a family memory if it wasn't for a number of events, changes in styles,
experiments and first concerts that caught an attention of a famous American label. HALESTORM got more and more attention,
and one of their recent achievements includes Grammy Award for the best rock performance. Their music inevitably ends up on
top of the charts. And listening to their music, we'd agree this recognition is well deserved.
Fun and heavy-enough hard rock reminiscent of the 1980s reacts with something like a fashionable alternative rock,
or post-grange, and the mixture's energy captivates the audience.
Bewitching Lzzy's forceful vocals easily attracts
even those far from rock music. Although, some accuse the band of lack of originality and say it's overestimated.
To these critics the band extends invitations to their concert because the band’s full force may be fully appreciated only on stage.
And HALESTORM’s concert audience confirms this nearly uniformly, the band's concerts will leave you only with positive
emotions. Moscow's audience could experience this in 2012. The lucky ones who managed to see their concert are probably
already looking forward to another meeting with Lzzy and her band. But for some this will be their first encounter and we are sure
it will be unforgettable.
PS. Concert's special guest: KreepShow. Today the band has two officially released albums.
"Glorious" (2011) and "Muse to abuse" (2013). Both of these albums are available in our country and abroad, in such
places like the US (Florida) and Great Britain. The band strives to preserve grange tradition but their main goal is music itself,
loud and emotional, not mater the genre.
